Two Chairs No Waiting 280: A Visit in Mayberry

Two Chairs No Waiting

Two Chairs No Waiting

Host: Allan Newsome
Running time: 0:21:40

Have you ever been to a Mayberry event?  In this episode we’ll talk about why I think you, as a fan of The Andy Griffith Show, should sit down and make plans to attend one of the many Mayberry related events around the country.  One of those reasons being getting to meet fellow fans in the flesh.

Over the years, I have met some of the salt of this earth at Mayberry events and many of them are now close friends.  Those friends are from all over the country and we tend to meet at events….kind’a like a family reunion of Mayberry fans.

I know that sounds all mushy but the people I have met through my fandom of The Andy Griffith Show are truly special. I know you are missing a blessing if you don’t take a chance and get to meet them too.

    Hi Allan,
You mentioned a few weeks ago that you were managing the website activities before you were Floyd. That surprised me, since it seems like you were born as his younger twin.
Could you talk a little bit about how you developed the performance. Did you have to rehearse a lot? Did you practice mostly on car trips? Which artists did you work with most? Did you have to change anything after you started performing?

Or — did Nurse Mary put the needle in and it just happened?

Thanks much – the podcast episodes are such fun!
