Fan’s had a real treat during Colonel Tim’s Talent Time held during Mayberry Days 2010. Elinor Donahue was a part of the show and on this episode of Two Chairs No Waiting we’ll be hearing from her.  We’ll hear in her own word why she left The Andy Griffith Show after only one season, her favorite episode and the story behind her singing “Away in a Manger” with Andy.  You won’t want to miss this one.

We’re also going to drop in on “Barney” and “Floyd” as we hear a story about Floyd’s glasses.  Big ain’t the word for it.

We haven’t had an “all” feedback episode in a while so I thought it was time to catchup by hearing from you.

Comments and question about my singing ability, Howard “Floyd” McNear, and how the podcast has made Mayberry even more “personal” is just some of what you can look forward to hearing on this episode.

Thank you to all of you that called or wrote in to the podcast!

I know you enjoyed last weeks episode and you’re going to enjoy this weeks even more. This interview is from almost 20 year ago (April 1993) and aired on WBT in Charlotte, NC. Our hosts are Henry Boggan and Mike Collins.  The interview a Don and Barbara were on an eleven city national tour of the play “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” at the time.

These two stars from The Andy Griffith Show are special people and I know listening to the conclusion of this interview will make that even more clear to fans.  Enjoy the show!

2012 was a year to remember in Mayberry and since it’s the beginning of a new year I thought it was a good time to review the top episodes of the year.   This listing is made up of the episodes released during 2012 (not all-time).

I think the review may be helpful to podcast listeners who have missed episodes and for new listeners who may want to go back and check out some of the most listened to episodes.

I did some figuring about the 217 episodes, thus far, of Two Chairs No Waiting. Over the last 4 plus years, I have created just over 63 and a half hours of podcast listening. That averages out to 17 and a half minutes per episode.  So, knowing which episodes fellow listeners have listened to most may help you find the high points you may enjoy going back and giving a listen.

Merry Christmas!  It is a great time of year to be spending time with friends and family.  That’s what I think of you as, friends and family, so I’m thankful to have this chance to visit with you in Mayberry.

The Andy Griffith Show only has one “Christmas” episode and I know fans enjoy watching it year after year.  Because of that, I figure that listeners to this podcast enjoy hearing some of the same things each Christmas as well.  It’s a tradition if you do it more than twice so we’ll continue the traditions we’ve started here at Two Chairs No Waiting.

We get to hear Ben Sandifer’s wonderful Mayberry Christmas poem.

We take a wonderful return trip down memory lane with Charlie Monk called “Andy & Opie Christmas.”
Some “Fred Upstairs” want’a be sings “Barney the Mayberry Deputy.”  And we close out the show with Miss Ellie singing “Away in a Manger.”

God bless you and may the year to come be a wonderful blessing to you and yours.
