There’s been some news this week about Mayberry, copyrights, and permissions so I wanted to try to explain what I know about these things. Some of you may not be overly interested in this topic so I’m going to lead the show off with Randy Turner report and give you a chance to drop off after it is over if you really don’t care to hear the legal talk.
Let me state clearly, I am not a lawyer so nothing I’m saying is legal advice other than the part about trying to stay out of trouble….I think that’s good advice.

There is one Christmas episode of The Andy Griffith Show and it is from that episode that inspiration for this podcast episode each year. This episode is similar to previous Christmas episodes but if we can watch reruns of “The Christmas Story over and over again, doing an episode of Two Chairs No Waiting that’s almost, but not quite exactly, like the ones from years past shouldn’t be a problem for most.
You can enjoy hearing some Christmas music related to Mayberry. It’s a tradition that we have established here at Two Chairs No Waiting so I hope you enjoy it.
There is a special guest this year in the form of Festus from Gunsmoke. He has a really good story to tell on Doc that you are going to love.
We take a wonderful return trip down memory lane with Charlie Monk called “Andy & Opie Christmas.” Get a report from MayberryTone News and hear Miss Ellie sing.

I’ve been looking through my files lately to see what treasures I might find. I recently ran across some articles from 1999 from papers and magazines and I thought they might be fun to share with you.
I found a really nice story from May 16, 1999 that ran in The Orlando Sentinel called “Mayberry 101 is a studious look at a classic show.” We’ve hear from Neal Brower many times here on the podcast but this is from back when he first put out his amazing book so we’ll hear what the Sentinel thought about it.
I also found a story from Jan 8, 1999 that was in USA Today Weekend titled “The Bible according to Barney Fife.” This was in the very eary days of the Mayberry Bible study and went a long way in helping spread the word about the study originated by Joey Fann and Brad Grasham.
I also found a couple of other fun things so I hope you enjoy yourself partying like it’s 1999.

The Cruise to Mayberry 14 was on November 2-7, 2019 and it was a great time. I thought I’d give you a recap of some of the fun that happens on the Mayberry Cruise so you might want to go with us on the 15th Mayberry Cruise coming up NOVEMBER 1 – 7, 2020!
It will be a 6 day cruise instead of the 5 days previous Mayberry cruises have been. The reason for that is to celebrate the 60th Anniversary year of The Andy Griffith Show and the 15th Cruise to Mayberry. The special guest is going to be Clint “Leon” Howard! It’s gonna be BIG! Information about the cruise can be found in the links section below.
All that said the special guest for the 2019 Mayberry Cruise was Ronnie Schell from Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. where he played Duke Slater. Ronnie appeared on The Andy Griffith Show two times and so many other TV shows and movies I can’t list them. Ronnie was joined by an entire crew of Mayberry tribute artists to add that Mayberry feel we had the bluegrass band Cane Mill Road!
