I’ve been going through my archives here at Two Chairs headquarters and finding things I believe you’d like to hear about. The one that stuck out to me this week was an article by David Hamburg that appeared in the March/April 1996 issue of the “Baldwin County Current“. The article is titled “Will the Real George Lindsey Please Stand Up?”
Over the years I think I’ve done more episodes of this podcast about George “Goober” Lindsey than any other cast member. He was featured on the very first episode of Two Chairs and I think the reason he’s been the focus so often it because I was lucky enough to get to know him a bit better than some of the other cast members.
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring George Petrie part 2.

I’m going to tell you a story that means alot to me. It’s about Don Knotts and about Andy Griffith saying in several interviews that his greatest joy during The Andy Griffith Show was going to work each day and seeing Don Knotts turn into Barney Fife.
I, like you, am a big fan of Don Knotts so meeting him was a thrill. He was a star and I hope you get a taste of what it was like being around him from this story.

We had some really great memories from Mayberry Days 2019, the 30th Mayberry Days, on last weeks podcast but there is so much that goes on during the event we’ll be talking about it off and one for months. This episode we’ll visit the Qualifying Round of the 2019 World Championship of Mayberry Trivia.
This round of the trivia is just to qualify for the Finals of Mayberry trivia. If you qualify, you end up facing past Mayberry Days Trivia champions and other qualifiers from this round and the “kids” trivia winner.
The Grand Champion of Mayberry Trivia for 2019 was Jim Sherrill. Jim is a 4 time repeat champion (2016, 2017, 2018, & 2019) and deserves a lot of credit for his education. 2nd place went to Pat Bullins and 3rd to Dennis Beal who are both past champions and deserve a shot out as well.
Bonus: This week’s installment of This Week in Mayberry History by Randy Turner featuring Woody Chambliss.
