In the third installment of we experience the third part of this four part series featuring Neal Brower’s interview with Rodney and Doug Dillard, Mitch Jayne, Dean Webb, and Maggie Peterson. This interview was recorded at Neal’s “Professor Brower’s Class” held during Mayberry Days 2004 in Mt. Airy, NC.
This week we start right off with the snoring scene from “Mountain Wedding” and their memories of filming the scene. It’s a great story to start off the episode and the fun doesn’t stop. Memories of Charlene in her wedding dress, “Meat!”, Briscoe courtin’ Aunt Bee, and so many more.
There’s one more part in this interview series and it’s something you will NOT want to miss. If you messed any of the other episodes of this series, be sure to go back and enjoy all the laughs.
Thank you to Neil and Pat Coleman for the video used in this episode.

The response to our last series of Neal Brower interviewing Elinor Donahue was so well received that I wanted to share more with you from Neal. This time we join him at Mayberry Days 2004 and his interview with the Darling boy (the Original Dillards) and Charlene (Maggie Peterson). This is going to be a four part series with Professor Brower and The Darlings.
This episode we get to know the men who make up the Darling family just a bit better by finding out their history as The Dillards before they arrived in Mayberry, NC. Doug, Rodney, Dean & Mitch tell stories about when they began to play music, how they started playing together and so much more.
Funny stories, smiles, laughter…..that’s what you have to look forward to and that’s just in part 1.
So, jump in where you can and hang on!
Thank you to Neil and Pat Coleman for the video used in this episode.

Elinor Donahue is amazing and very open about her life and experience in this interview from Mayberry Days 2005. “Miss Ellie” is always a favorite of the fan of The Andy Griffith Show and the love for her will only increase as this interview progresses. We learn about her early live and career and in future podcast episodes we get to know this gracious lady in a much more personal way than every before.

In episode 298, I gave you a run down of what happened at Mayberry Days 2014 last episode. From that episode I received requests to give you a test of your Mayberry IQ by presenting the 2014 Mayberry Days Trivia contest. So this episode we’re going to run through the incredibly hard questions asked during the “Super Bowl of Mayberry Trivia.” After you hear them, you’ll be surprised to know the winner got 16 points out of 22 possible.
Fans at Mayberry Days often ask, “Why are the questions so hard?” Well the reason is that this is the “Jeopardy” of Mayberry Trivia. It really *means* something to win and champions have the right to be proud of their title of Mayberry Days Trivia Champion! There are several people who can compete at this level and actually have a chance to get *every* question right.
Every year, Kenneth Junkin works very hard to come up with questions to stump these trivial experts who are walking Mayberry computers.
Be sure to keep your own score to see how well you do compared to these experts. One or two answers right is a real accomplishment and you have a right to be happy with yourself so jump in where you can and hang on. Let us hear how you did.
